“DIAPLOUS” Addiction Treatment Unit
Psychiatric Clinic of Corfu General Hospital
What is DIAPLOUS?
The DIAPLOS Addiction Unit has been operating in Corfu since 2013. It covers permanent and ongoing needs for addiction services, both for addicts and their families.
Its creation is the result of the requests of the overwhelming majority of institutional and non-institutional bodies on the Island, the broader anti-drug movement and our fellow citizens.
The DIAPLOS Addiction Unit belongs to the Psychiatric Clinic of the General Hospital of Corfu and through the National Health System provides exclusively public and free addiction services.
Participation in the Addiction Unit is voluntary, the therapeutic framework is “dry” and does not provide substitutes. The therapeutic approach is based on psychotherapy (individual, group and alternative forms of therapy), lasts 24 months and is divided into three distinct therapeutic phases:
a) counseling center, b) psychological detoxification, c) social reintegration.
The treatment program is an external open program and does not include a closed phase at this time.
