ACCOMMODATION FOR KIDNEY PATIENTS AT M.T.N. OF GENERAL HOSPITAL OF CORFU “AGIA IRINI”
- The maximum length of stay for guests is up to two weeks.
- Interested parties submit a registered application to the Unit, or send it electronically to the Unit’s email: mtn@gnkerkyras.gr, at least one month before the start date of the hosting.
- At the same time as the application, interested parties also send the patient’s history, preferably to the M.T.N. email address, in order to maintain the patient’s confidentiality.
- Criteria for selecting guests, especially during the summer months and Easter, when there is a large number of applications, are:
- the date of sending the application either registered or electronically
- the location, which must be accompanied by evidence
- serious reasons for coming to the island, which must be proven
- The processing of applications and the selection are carried out by a four-member committee, which is established by the Hospital’s Board of Directors and consists of:
- the director of the National Kidney Foundation, Mr. Vakianis Panteleimonas
- the head of the National Kidney Foundation, Ms. Poulianos Magdalini
- the psychologist of the General Hospital, Ms. Tsakmaki Angeliki
- the president of the Corfu Kidney Patients Association, Mr. Kormaris Panagiotis
