Independent Department of Quality Control, Research and Continuing Education

Head of the Independent Department of Quality Control, Research and Continuing Education is Ms. Ekaterini Kapadocha.

The responsibilities of the Independent Department of Quality Control, Research and Continuing Education are:

1.The promotion and monitoring of the implementation of the Quality Policy, as defined by the Hospital Management in an integrated Quality System which may include:

a. a detailed description of the Hospital’s activities, as well as the procedures that govern them,

b. control of the proper functioning of the activities and the observance of the procedures. The activities and procedures should be constantly monitored in terms of their observance but also in terms of their effectiveness,

c. documentation and maintenance of a record of indicators and all of the above.

2. The implementation of the Quality Policy is directly related to the objectives of the Hospital, as well as to the needs and expectations of the users of its services.

More specifically, the responsibilities of the Department include:

a. The continuous updating and revision of the type of documents, the definition of standardization for document formats for special purposes (patient file, internal notes, presentations, letters to public services, etc.), possibly with the hospital logo, in collaboration with the independent Department of Organization and Information Technology.

b. The conduct of internal inspections with the aim of recording deviations or non-compliance with the Quality System.

c. The development of the policy and compliance with the rules concerning the hygiene and safety of employees and patients, in collaboration with the Medical and Technical Service.

d. The control in collaboration with the co-competent departments for the hospital’s waste and refuse with the aim of protecting the environment.

e. The proposal of measures for the improvement of the workplaces.

f. Prevention and development of sensitivity to information security issues of the Hospital.

g. The responsibility for the overall monitoring of the effectiveness of the Hospital’s Management Indicators System, the submission of proposals for improving existing or introducing new management tools, the design and monitoring of efficiency indicators that affect user satisfaction, the submission of proposals for improvement or for the design of new services to serve them.

h. The responsibility for recording and monitoring the operation of activities as well as the responsibility for their continuous improvement and development in collaboration with the competent departments.

i. The continuous evaluation of the services provided by the hospital, on behalf of patients. The acceptance and evaluation of patient complaints, as well as the design of questionnaires and other satisfaction surveys, in collaboration with the competent services and the Office for the Protection of the Rights of Health Service Recipients

j. The cooperation with the relevant Departments and the Office for the Protection of the Rights of Health Service Recipients for an effective and rapid response to citizens’ complaints related to the provision of services by the hospital.

k. The care to ensure the certification, in accordance with International Standards, of as many hospital services as possible.

3. The preparation on an annual basis of a program of research programs and protocols, as well as the monitoring of their implementation.

4. The responsibility for organizing and administratively supporting all educational activities of the Hospital.

5. The preparation of educational programs for all Hospital staff.

6. The responsibility for implementing and monitoring research and education programs, which are subsidized by Greek or international sources.

7. The responsibility for evaluating the research and education programs of the Hospital staff.

Develops procedures for identifying staff training needs, evaluating the results of the training provided, as well as maintaining the relevant file of research programs and training seminars.

8. The responsibility for monitoring, in collaboration with the Medical Service, the file of approved clinical trials and research protocols.
